Driving innovation and skills development in manufacturing

Since 2015, MTC Training has proudly partnered with Lloyds to advance the skills, research, and technological innovations needed for the manufacturing sector to compete on a global scale. This collaboration has been instrumental in shaping the future of manufacturing, and we are excited to extend our partnership through to the end of 2029, with a total sponsorship of £15 million.

Empowering the next generation of engineers

Our partnership with Lloyds focuses on developing high-value manufacturing apprenticeships and training programmes that support businesses in adopting new technologies and driving the UK economy forward. Together, we aim to train and upskill 6,000 graduates and engineers by 2030, ensuring a robust pipeline of talent for the industry.

Apprentice services

MTC Training supports businesses in finding and recruiting apprentices, providing guidance on funding options and ensuring a seamless apprenticeship experience. Our programmes are designed to equip apprentices with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the manufacturing sector.

Lloyds Levy Transfer

The Apprenticeship Levy was set up by the government to create long-term sustainable funding for apprenticeships. While SMEs don’t have to pay the apprenticeship levy, our Levy Transfer Fund helps SMEs to take on apprentices by covering the cost of apprenticeship training. Lloyds has made 25% of its Apprenticeship Levy available to support the UK economy to grow. Through our partnership, small businesses can access this funding to develop their workforces and improve career opportunities for young people.

SME Salary Support Scheme

In addition to the Levy Transfer, our partnership funding can also contribute to the Level 3 apprentice’s first-year salary. This financial support de-risks the first year of the program, which the apprentice spends full-time in the training centre, developing a foundation of skills that will help them quickly add value to your business from year two onwards. This means your business only begins to pay for the apprentice’s salary in full when you start benefiting from their impact.
