Learner support

You may, at some time, have a problem that is either work-related or personal, which you feel you cannot discuss with your supervisor or MTC trainer/assessor. It often helps to talk it through with someone else. If you wish to discuss your problem in confidence, you may want to talk to one of our dedicated Support Team. With their experience of dealing with personal issues, our staff can help with any guidance you may need. Your discussions will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Assessors

During your engineering apprenticeship, your company will be assigned a workplace Assessor. The Assessor will be your main point of contact from MTC and will help support both you and your company in delivering a quality engineering apprenticeship. Your Assessor will visit you regularly to review your progress along with your company.

Prevent

Prevent is part of the UK’s counter-terrorism strategy, which seeks to identify and support those at risk of becoming drawn into radicalisation or terrorism. If you have any concerns, please contact our safeguarding team at safeguarding@the-mtc.org.

MTC advocates, promotes, and teaches core British values because the Government believes that doing so will make people more resilient towards attempts to radicalise them and support them with life in modern Britain.

  • Democracy: Learners need to show respect for democracy and support participation in democratic processes.
  • The Rule of Law: Learners should appreciate that living under the rule of law protects individual citizens and is essential for their wellbeing and safety.
  • Individual Liberty: Enables learners to develop their self-knowledge, self-esteem, and self-confidence.
  • Mutual Respect and Tolerance: Learners must show mutual respect and tolerance to those with different beliefs.

These essential values support individuals to become rounded and valuable members of our society.

Matrix Standard

The MTC is Proud to Have Achieved the Matrix Standard for Our Information, Advice, and Guidance

The Matrix Standard is a unique quality standard for organisations to assess and measure their advice and support services, which ultimately supports individuals in their choice of career, learning, work, and life goals.
