MTC Training and Oxfordshire Advanced Skills (OAS) deliver industry-led nuclear apprenticeships designed to meet the evolving demands of the UK’s nuclear sector. Developed in collaboration with key employers such as Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS) and UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), our programmes focus on real-world application, future-ready skills, and emerging technologies.
Delivered via block release at our state-of-the-art OAS facility, each apprenticeship combines hands-on workplace learning with expert coaching and technical training. Apprentices are supported throughout their 24-month programme and leave with the specialist knowledge, behaviours, skills and confidence needed to contribute meaningfully to nuclear operations and safety.
From monitoring radiological hazards to supporting operational improvements and waste management, our apprenticeships provide a strong foundation in either nuclear operations or health physics monitoring. Employers benefit from a workforce that is safer, more skilled, and prepared for long-term success in one of the UK's most vital sectors.
Funding support is available through the Apprenticeship Levy or co-investment models, and additional help is accessible for SMEs via the Lloyds Bank Transfer Fund.
