MTC Training is opening a brand-new advanced manufacturing training centre in the North East, giving learners and employers access to high-quality engineering apprenticeships, upskilling courses, and specialist technical training - all delivered locally at Cobalt Park, Newcastle.
This expansion brings MTC Training’s nationally recognised expertise from Coventry, Oxfordshire and Liverpool directly into the region, helping local employers address skills shortages and providing new career opportunities for learners across the North East.
Supported by Lloyds, the centre will play a major role in strengthening the region’s manufacturing capability and preparing the workforce for the future.

What will we be offering in Tyneside?

MTC Training Tyneside will offer a comprehensive range of hands‑on engineering training opportunities, including industry‑led upskilling and reskilling courses alongside structured Level 3 engineering apprenticeships and NVQs. The centre will deliver practical technical programmes designed to develop real capability across areas such as PLCs, process improvement, mechanical and electrical skills, robotics, and core engineering disciplines, supporting both new talent entering the sector and individuals looking to build or formalise their skills.

MTC Training Tyneside is made possible through support from Lloyds, extending a 15‑year strategic partnership from £15m to over £18.5m through to the end of 2029. To date, this partnership has enabled MTC to support 5,000+ apprentices, engineers and graduates across the UK. With the addition of the new centre, we’re aiming to train and upskill more than 6,500.
