Mechatronics Technician Skills Accelerator

The Mechatronics Technician Skills Accelerator is a structured, assessment-led programme designed to develop, assess and progress learners into engineering and maintenance opportunities, with a particular focus on Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) apprenticeship pathways. Through a blend of practical engineering exposure, behavioural observation, technical assessment and employability preparation, learners gain the skills, confidence and insight needed to progress into apprenticeship or entry-level engineering roles.

  • Assessment of learner commitment and suitability

Technical insight and behavioural review

Assessment and employability preparation

  • Practical competency assessments
  • Engineering knowledge checks
  • CV writing and interview preparation

Gateway 2 – programme outcome

  • Identification of next steps: apprenticeship-ready or alternative pathway

Final assessment centre

  • Preparation for and attendance at Amazon’s assessment centre
  • By the end of this programme, learners will be able to:

    • Demonstrate basic mechanical maintenance and electrical awareness
    • Safely complete practical engineering tasks in a workshop environment
