Prime is an innovative engineering company specialising in industrial automation, System integration and robotics.

As an Engineering Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced engineers on real customer projects from day one. Depending on your chosen pathway (Electrical or Mechanical), you'll develop practical skills in designing, building, testing and commissioning advanced automation systems.

Typical responsibilities include:

Assisting with the design and manufacture of automated machinery

Building and wiring electrical control panels

Site installation

Supporting installation and commissioning at customer sites.

Using CAD software and engineering drawings.

Testing, fault finding and continuous improvement.

Learning safe working practices and engineering standards.

Working closely with experienced engineers across multiple disciplines.

Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office)

IMPORTANT: You must hold a driving license as this site is remote.

 

Reality check

The role involves working in a busy engineering workshop and occasionally travelling to customer sites to assist with installations and commissioning.

Applicants should enjoy practical, hands-on work and be comfortable using engineering tools and equipment.

 

MTC Training eligibility: 5 GCSE's grades 9-4 / A*- C (or equivalent) including Maths and English Language or English Literature
